SHEN-MUN. TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF. SIX THINGS. GOO.
//1. I play the violin, the piano, the keyboard, the guitar, the French horn, the trumpet, the ukulele, and I sing.
2. My pantry door just opened by itself and that’s kinda creepy.
3. I’m currently vidchatting with the wonderful Mun of Ask-Irelia, who sent me this ask.
4. I’m left handed but I do sport-y things with my right hand, such as batting or swinging a golf club.
5. I make a mean crème brûlée, along with other desserts.
6. My voice charms all the ladies.//
Let’s play Doctor
Akali nodded, leaving Shen to his own devices as she went to get ready for bed. Slipping out of her nurse uniform, she rummaged through her dresser, deciding on a pair of silky drawstring shorts and a tank top to sleep in. She loosened her hair, allowing the thick mass to fall around her hips. Quickly grabbing a pillow off of her bed, she made her way back to her house guest.
“Here Shen.” She tossed it onto the couch, quickly averting her eyes. She had returned rather quickly and was unsure of his state of dress. Retrieving a quilt from the living room closet, she placed that alongside his pillow, her eyes still on the floor.
Unable to sleep without a cup of tea, she went into the kitchen to set the kettle on.Trying to keep the noise down she opted for the easily accessible glass kettle she only used when company was over, instead of rummaging through her cabinets for her normal tin one. Filling it with water, she waited for it to heat, pondering the dead silence coming from the other room. Shen was no doubt fast asleep, she was worried about how hard he was working these days. His face seemed to always be accompanied with purplish bags beneath his eyes…
A shrill whistle interrupted her thoughts, forgetting she needed a heat protector for the glass kettle she went to move it off the stove. A small cry flew from her lips as it immediately fell from her grasp, glass flying as it smashed to the floor. The boiling water splashed against the top of her feet, causing her to jump in reaction. Wincing as the small shards of glass pierced her skin, she leaned back on her heels. So much for letting Shen sleep.
Placing the now neatly stacked pile of papers on Akali’s coffee table, Shen stripped off his surgical scrubs and folded them, placing them beside the possessions on the wooden platform. His bare skin barely felt the cold air as his friend threw a pillow and blanket at him. “Thank you,” he called back towards her retreating back.
He arranged the quilt and cushion on her couch, settling in comfortably. His eyes closed and he sighed with relief at getting off his feet. The sound of feet padding softly, but audibly, to the kitchen area caught his ears. Most like Akali making tea for herself before she slept. Rolling over on his side, he began his routine of sleep, emptying his mind of all the things that had gone on toda-
A sudden cry and loud crash broke his concentration. Shen sat upright, the blanket tangled around his waist. “Akali?” he called out, wrapping the blanket around himself. It was terribly cold, after all. He walked into the kitchen and saw what had occurred. Dropping the blanket for efficiency, he dashed to Akali’s side, pulling her away from the broken kettle. “Are you alright?” he asked, checking over her feet and legs for any glass slivers. “Surely it doesn’t hurt?”
Akali’s face burned as Shen pulled her from the mess she had made. She shook her head quickly in response to his question. There were several shards protruding from her soft skin, but easily removable. Her pride was wounded far more than the arches of her feet. “I’m fine, thank you.” She smiled, looking towards her friend.
She choked, eyes widening as she took in the state of his dress. His chest was bare, as well as his legs. The quilt he had been using, lay sprawled in the mess of broken glass and water. His only article of clothing was a pair of black boxer briefs, that rode low on his hips. She could make out the V marks trailing down int— “Kyaaa!” She turned away from him, a flush creeping up her neck. She hadn’t seen Shen so bare since they had visited the baths, but that was years ago. His body was more muscled now from all the rugged training and work he did on a daily basis. She shook her head, barring the images of him from her mind. “I’ll just go get you another blanket b-before I clean this up.”
Shen plucked a few tiny fragments of glass from Akali’s foot, tossing them into the trash can on the table. “Those should heal quickly,” he murmured, wiping a small droplet of blood from a cut. Infection shouldn’t have set in, as Akali was a strong-bodied woman with a powerful immune system, but still. “You should get that cleaned up, you know.”
As she suddenly flinched away from Shen, he paused, aware of her gaze upon his body. “Akali, what is wrong? Have I been wounded?” He looked down at his bare chest, finding nothing wrong. “Is it my state of dress? In my hurry to assist you, I apologise for not putting on a shirt or trousers.” He picked up the blanket, now soaked with water, and carefully threw it into the laundry basket. Turning away from the woman, he walked away a little, before turning and saying, “I’ll get it myself. You should go rest, I am able to clean it up. Please, go and sleep.”
